Company Organogram + Job Descriptions + Performance Appraisals

Company Organogram

An accurate organogram allows the leaders of the business to at a glance see their company structure. It makes reporting lines clean. It creates transparency for communication and responsibilities and therefore should increase efficiency and productivity.

Job Descriptions

Job descriptions allow employees to understand their responsibilities and in doing so builds accountability at every level of the company. It creates transparency within departments and improves understanding of each function. Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) are then formed from an accurate and up to date job description.

This gives a detailed account of each role and what they are doing day in day out. It enables management to see who is overloaded and perhaps who has capacity to do more. The Job Description process is also an opportunity for leaders of the organisation to change roles and functions within the company.

Company Handbook

A company handbook is a formal document that refers to work relates issues and provides a clear framework for employees. The handbook will cover topics such as:

  • Hours of Work
  • Absent / Sick Policy
  • Maternity Cover
  • Dismissal Procedure
  • Conduct at Work
  • HR Policies and Procedures

This is composed together with TRC’s retained Labour Lawyer ensuring all statutory requirements are covered. TRC may make suggestions based on company insight and knowledge and will format the handbook into a user friendly and readable structure.

Performance Appraisals

Performance Appraisals are recommended to be done biannually, though can be done more or less frequently depending on the need.

Regular performance appraisals help create a corporate culture that promotes personal success and accountability, along with collaboration.

Individual employees need the reinforcement of knowing that their contributions are valued by upper management, and equally so under performers are noticed and dealt with accordingly.

Performance appraisals allow management personnel to establish guidelines for compensation increases, track employee strengths and weaknesses and identify the best candidates for promotion.  They also offer feedback for improvements both from the employee as well as from the employer; and promote training programs.

Change management is a structured approach for ensuring that changes are thoroughly and smoothly implemented, and that the lasting benefits of change are achieved.

The focus is on the wider impacts of change, particularly on people and how they, as individuals and teams, move from the current situation to the new one. The change in question could range from a simple process change, to major changes in policy or strategy needed if the organisation is to achieve its potential.

TRC can provide both workshops and one on one coaching sessions to assist with Change Management.

Assessment is a systematic process for obtaining information about the performance of an organisation and the factors that affect performance. We believe the Organisational Assessment is a tool that every organisation should be using in the quest for continuous improvement. Performing a formal organisational assessment allows the organisation to identify strengths and weaknesses and must have participation of key stakeholders across the organisation. An assessment is an excellent method to take a figurative step back and evaluate how the organisation is operating as a whole. Forward thinking organisations understand there are always ways to improve stakeholder, customer or constituent services and support.

Should a department or an individual be experiencing difficulty in delivery and performance, TRC can offer a full Needs Assessment and a detailed Recommendations Report.
